Dumpster Rental Mistakes to Avoid in Murray, UT; Renting Wrong Size, Improper Placement & More
There is not a better way to clean up after a big project or do a massive clean out of your home than to rent a dumpster to help you get it done. Simply having a dumpster to help you get things done will help move the process along much quicker since you won’t be making several trips to dump your load at the landfill. This is why so many people choose to have a dumpster delivered to their home when they embark on a big project. Rolys Dumpster Rental is here to talk about some of the most common mistakes that are made when people rent a dumpster.
Renting the Wrong Dumpster Size
It might be tempting to save a few bucks and get the smallest dumpster that is available, but you will find that you have to pay to have it emptied more often. You are better off just choosing the right size from the beginning. As a general rule, a 12 cubic yard dumpster is great for a small remodel, a 15 cubic yard dumpster is a good choice for a larger remodel project and a 20 cubic yard is best for large construction projects. Remember that when you have a smaller dumpster reserved for your project, you have to pay to have a larger one delivered once you realize that your dumpster isn’t the right size for the project.
Putting in Too Much Weight & Overfilling Dumpster
While you might think that putting as much garbage as possible in the dumpster is the best way to get rid of your waste, you need to be aware that there is such a thing as filling the dumpster too much. It will usually state how much you are allowed to fill the dumpster in the contract that you sign with the dumpster rental company, but you should be aware that overfilling the dumpster will only lead to removing some of the debris so that the dumpster can be emptied because it isn’t compliant with the contract you signed.
Throwing Hazardous Materials in the Dumpster
There are items that you aren’t allowed to put inside a dumpster like electronics, chemicals, paint, appliances and more. You need to be aware of these items so that you aren’t stuck with a dumpster that you’ve filled with things you shouldn’t have. Make sure everything you are putting in the dumpster is allowed and not considered hazardous.
Improper Dumpster Placement
You need to know where your HOA allows dumpsters to be placed when you rent one. There might be rules about where you can put it and where you can’t. You will need to have a space that is level. Most of the time, you can’t block any driveways, sidewalks, entryways and other main parts of the neighborhood.
